4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder/first baseman Ryan Braun could resume playing in the Brewers intrasquad matchups Sunday, Tom Haudricourt of The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Manager Craig Counsell said Friday that, "he's feeling good. He's been a little slowed by just the normal things, for him. Nothing of significance.'' Braun is 36 years old and is entering the final guaranteed year of his contract, leading to questions in March about this potentially being his last season. The universal designated hitter in the National League could extend his career, as he is expected to fill that role this season. He's hit .266/.324/.511 in just 103 career plate appearances as a DH. Braun could see his draft stock rise a bit if he can see more at-bats as a DH, and his ability to hit for power and average and steal some bases can certainly be appealing for owners late in drafts.--James Stokke
