4 years agoNew York Yankees second baseman DJ LeMahieu may be ready for the start of the season after rejoining the team on Friday from a coronavirus related absence. LeMahieu is scheduled to face live pitching this week and is optimistic that he’ll be prepared to start the season at second base for the Yankees. If LeMahieu misses any time to start the year then Tyler Wade is most likely to man second base, but third baseman Gio Urshela was spotted taking ground balls at second base last week and could also be an option if the team wants to get Miguel Andujar in the lineup. Even so, LeMahieu appears unlikely to miss more than a week to start the season and should be ready to play sooner rather than later.--Sam Chinitz
