BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues
OWNED IN: 2% of leagues
ANALYSIS: Austin Voth was a popular name in sleeper circles during spring training due to his breakthrough month-plus last year, but he seemed to be on the outside looking in for the fifth spot in the rotation. However, when Joe Ross decided to opt-out of the upcoming season, Voth now only needs to beat out Erick Feede to cement his spot in the rotation, which makes him a tremendous add for deep leagues.
In 43.2 innings last year, the Voth registered a 3.30 ERA, 1.05 WHIP, and 17.8 K%-BB%. The performance was supported by a .212 xBA, .276 xwOBA, and only 4.4% barrels allowed. Voth's best pitch is a strong curveball that's 90th percentile and induced a .182 xBA. However, Voth spent the extended offseason honing his delivery, adding a splitter and tweaking his slider, which he only threw 11.3% of the time to a .211 xBA and 42.9 Whiff%. If Voth is able to rely less on his four-seam fastball and strengthen his overall four-pitch mix, that could make him a tremendous value while pitching for one of the best teams in baseball.
