Xander Bogaerts Exits Game Early
4 years agoBoston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts (leg) was removed from Sunday's intrasquad game early for precautionary reasons as a result of hamstring tightness that he experienced during the exhibition contest. The injury appeared to happen during Bogaerts' final at-bat of the game, when he grabbed at his hamstring and managed to shake it out. Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke stated that he does not think it will be a concern moving forward, giving fantasy owners a sign that it may only be a day-to-day issue with the start of the season fast-approaching. Bogaerts is coming off of a productive season in which he posted career-bests with 33 home runs, 117 RBI, 52 doubles, 341 total bases and .939 OPS in 155 games, making the 27-year-old an undoubted top-10 shortstop on the draft board for the 2020 season.
