Braves Acquire Scott Schebler Off Waivers
4 years agoThe Atlanta Braves have added outfielder Scott Schebler to the mix after he was placed on waivers after not making the Cincinnati Reds’ Opening Day roster. The Braves were looking for another outfield bat to replace veteran Nick Markakis (opting out of playing in 2020) when they signed Yasiel Puig, before that deal fell through. Schebler brings a left-handed power bat to the equation, having mashed 30 home runs in 2017 for Cincinnati. He hit just .123 in 81 Major League at-bats last season, and it remains unclear whether Schebler will join Atlanta in the near future. He can remain on the waiver wire in all but the deepest standard formats, although he will have some DFS appeal for owners looking for cheap options against right-handed pitching upon his arrival.
