David Peterson To Make Major League Debut On Tuesday
4 years agoNew York Mets pitcher David Peterson will start against the Red Sox on Tuesday evening. He will be making his major league debut. Peterson, the Mets top draft pick in 2017, was originally scheduled to begin the season at Triple-A back in March. However, because of injuries to Noah Syndergaard and Marcus Stroman, Peterson is getting the nod as the Mets' fifth starter. In 2019, Peterson went 3-6 with a 4.19 ERA in 24 starts at Double-A. During spring training, Peterson impressed team officials by posting a 1.50 ERA and striking out six in six innings pitched, with an uptick in velocity. If he performs well on Tuesday, Peterson could find himself with a regular starting gig going forward for the Mets. Accordingly, Peterson should be on deep mixed and NL-only radars. DFS tournament players may wish to roll the dice on Peterson on Tuesday as a contrarian option with the Mets bats finally waking up.
