4 years agoSan Francisco Giants starting pitcher Drew Smyly said that he expects to stick in the starting rotation for the rest of the season even after a relief appearance against the Dodgers last Friday. Smyly is scheduled for a start against the Rangers this weekend, and he doesn’t anticipate returning to the bullpen anytime soon. Owned in only one percent of Yahoo leagues, Smyly’s presence in the starting rotation makes him worth monitoring this season. Armed with a curveball that posted a 16.4% swinging-strike rate last season and a solid cutter, Smyly has the potential to post a strikeout rate around 25% with an ERA below 4.00 for the rest of the season.--Sam Chinitz
