Homer Bailey Earns Win In First Start
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Homer Bailey got the win in his first start with the team. Bailey pitched five innings, striking out four batters with two walks while giving up two earned runs. The veteran starter made one mistake, hanging a slider to outfielder Tyler O'Neill, who deposited the ball 438 feet into the seats. Otherwise, Bailey was good, throwing 46 of 80 pitches for strikes and getting four punch-outs with the slider. The pitch could be key to his success this year, especially if he can get it going at the same time as his splitter. Bailey will look to duplicate this effort in his next start against the Cleveland Indians.
