J.D. Davis Hits First Home Run Of Season
4 years agoNew York Mets infielder/outfielder J.D. Davis hit his first home run of the season on Tuesday in the Mets 8-3 win over the Red Sox. Davis went 2-for-3 with a two run HR and scored two runs. After a slow start out of the gate, Davis is now batting .250 in 16 at-bats. Davis, who has primarily been playing left field to start the season, is a prime breakout candidate this season. The Mets will most likely continue to find ways to keep Davis' bat in the lineup regularly, despite the presence of Dominic Smith and Yoenis Cespedes on the roster. Davis can be played in left field, designated hitter or at third base when Cespedes or Jeff McNeil, respectively, need a rest.
