Masahiro Tanaka On Track To Start Saturday
4 years agoNew York Yankees right-handed pitcher Masahiro Tanaka has been announced as the team’s starting pitcher for Saturday’s game against the Boston Red Sox. Tanaka is fortunate to be pitching in 2020 in any capacity after taking a line drive off the side of his head at the hands of Giancarlo Stanton during Summer Camp. The move to start at home should behoove Tanaka, as he posted a 3.10 ERA in 16 starts at Yankee Stadium last season, opposed to the 6.05 ERA that he accrued on the road. Traditionally, Tanaka has scuffled against the Red Sox, owning a 5.76 career ERA in 21 starts against his rival. How deep he will be able to go in his first start remains up in the air, making him a difficult fantasy selection so soon out of the gate.
