Damien Williams Opting Out Of 2020 Season
4 years agoKansas City Chiefs running back Damien Williams intends to opt out of the 2020 NFL season due to COVID-19 concerns. Williams -- who had 711 scrimmage yards and seven touchdowns last season -- was set to be part of a two-back committee with rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire. Now, this backfield is likely to belong solely to Edwards-Helaire, who should vault up draft boards in redraft and has the potential to be productive on the ground and through the air in head coach Andy Reid's offense. Edwards-Helaire is a first round pick now. Williams should be off the draft board in redraft. And DeAndre Washington is now an appealing late round option who could become a valuable handcuff to the rookie lead back.
