Rich Hill Throws Five Scoreless Innings In Twins Debut
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starter Rich Hill looked great in his debut with the team, earning a win after throwing five scoreless innings and allowing a pair of hits while striking out two batters against the St. Louis Cardinals. Hill became the first 40-year-old starting pitcher in Twins' history to throw at least five innings and allow two-or fewer hits. The veteran starter only got three swings and misses out of 68 pitches, but kept hitters off balance using primarily fastballs and curveballs. The average exit velocity on batted balls against Hill was 84.8 MPH, so he certainly kept Cardinals hitters guessing. Hill will look to do it again in his next start against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
