Blake Snell To Be Limited In Second Start
4 years agoTampa Bay Rays left-hander Blake Snell was kept under a close eye in his first start of the year last week and after working two innings, he will be pushed out to 3-5 innings Friday against the Orioles. The Rays have been notorious for their unique strategies of getting to 27 outs, so utilizing Snell as a de facto opener should be nothing new when it comes to bullpen management. With his gaudy DFS price tag, owners may be reluctant to roster Snell due to the nature of his start not going deep, irrespective of how he may pitch during his time on the hill. Season-long owners can hold out hope that his third start next week sees him garner even more usage.
