Edwin Rios Draws First Start Of Season Friday
4 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers first baseman Edwin Rios is in the starting lineup for Friday’s contest against Arizona and right-hander Zac Gallen. Rios mashed a go-ahead homer against Houston on Wednesday, a continuation of the power that he displayed in a short stint with the Dodgers last year, roping four roundtrippers in just 47 at-bats. Having walloped 31 home runs and produced .915 OPS at Triple-A Oklahoma City last season, Rios has made his case for big league playing time despite his hefty competition. Despite that, he is an explosive DFS candidate when he does crack the starting nine; but until he reels off consecutive starts, he is likely best left on the waiver wire in season-long formats.
