J.D. Davis Smacks Second Homer Of Season
4 years agoNew York Mets infielder/outfielder J.D. Davis hit his second home run of the season on Friday in the Mets' brutal 11-10 loss to the Braves. Davis went 2-for-4 with a two run HR, drove in three and scored one run. After a slow start to the season, Davis is now batting .320 in 25 at-bats, to go with a .393 on-base percentage. Davis, who has primarily been playing left field to start the season, is showing early signs of an anticipated breakout season. The Mets will likely continue to find ways to keep Davis' bat in the lineup regularly, despite the presence of Dominic Smith and Yoenis Cespedes on the roster. Davis can be played in left field, designated hitter or at third base when Cespedes or Jeff McNeil, respectively, need a rest. If he is still available in mixed leagues, owners should be quick to add him to rosters given the fact that the Mets are intent on keeping his hot bat in the lineup.
