Tim Anderson Lands On IL Due To Groin Strain
4 years agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson sustained a groin injury while fielding a ball during Friday night’s game, which led to his removal. Now, he’ll miss time due to the ailment, with Leury Garcia slotting in at shortstop during his absence. The absence of Anderson’s bat at the top of the order paves the way for rookie outfielder Luis Robert to take over the top spot, a significant development for fantasy owners who may have been on the fence about adding the preternaturally talented youngster. Through his first seven games, Anderson had peppered a league-high four doubles, hitting .333 and picking up right where he left off in 2019 after he led the Majors with a .335 batting average. Owners will have to have a contingency plan for at least the next week as Anderson heals up.
