Trevor Story Extends On-Base Streak To 22 Games
4 years agoColorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story wasted little time getting on base during Saturday’s game against the Padres, smacking a single off of left-hander Joey Lucchesi in his first at-bat. The hit by Story marks his 22nd consecutive game having reached base, dating back to Sept. 10 of last season. Through the first six games of 2020, Story has been scorching hot, even with just one of those contests having come at Coors Field. An elite option at shortstop on a nightly basis, Story will play 11 of his next 14 games at his home ballpark, in which he owns a career 1.002 OPS. While his price tag is steep on DFS, a locked in hitter at a park like Coors is a commodity that can defy overspending.
