4 years agoDetroit Tigers right-handed pitcher Michael Fulmer had been in line to make his second start Saturday against the Reds, but due to the rainout, will now have his next appearance pushed to next week. With the delay not coming until just before first pitch, Fulmer had prepped to start Saturday, which apparently factored into the decision to go with Rony Garcia and Daniel Norris as the starter’s for Sunday’s doubleheader. Fulmer tossed just 47 pitches in his first start back from Tommy John surgery, but also yielded three home runs in just 2 ⅔ innings. Having been the Rookie of the Year in 2016 and an All-Star in ‘17, Detroit will presumably give Fulmer ample opportunities to reclaim his past form moving forward, even if it may take a few starts for him to find his groove.--Jesse Borek
