Ryan Braun Lands On 10-Day IL With Finger Injury
4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder/first baseman Ryan Braun (finger) has been placed on the 10-day injured list due to a right finger infection that kept him out of the lineup Wednesday, but has since gone in the wrong direction. Braun has begun the year 3-for-13 at the dish with two RBI and four strikeouts, with his former full-time playing role likely in flux as Milwaukee attempts to get a plethora of bats into the lineup. The loss of Braun now shortens the Brewers’ options even further following Lorenzo Cain’s decision to opt out of 2020 due to COVID-19 concerns. Avisail Garcia and Justin Smoak are the two names that should benefit most from Braun’s absence, though they’ll have to produce if they’re to hold off Braun upon his return, which could come in roughly a week or so.
