Jake Arrieta Lasts Five Innings Vs Yankees
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta allowed three runs in five innings pitched at the Yankees on Monday. Arrieta allowed seven hits and struck out four without issuing a walk. Considering the matchup, this was an encouraging start for Arrieta in his season-debut, since the Phillies didn't play last week in the wake of the Marlins' COVID-19 outbreak. Despite the promising start, Arrieta isn't worth chasing in fantasy just yet. He averaged less than seven K/9 each of the last two seasons and had a FIP near five last year. His value should be limited to deeper-leagues when he has a good matchup, which he won't see in his next start vs the Braves on Saturday.
