4 years agoChicago White Sox second baseman Nick Madrigal (shoulder) has been placed on the injured list with a separated left shoulder. Madrigal suffered the injury on Tuesday after sliding into third base. It’s a shame as the second base prospect finally got promoted and was going to start regularly. General Manager Rick Hahn was optimistic that Madrigal could return by the end of August, but noted that Madrigal could need surgery in the offseason. Danny Mendick will start at second base and bat ninth. Mendick could be avoided in all formats for now.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
