4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Kyle Lewis is out of the starting nine for the first time this season for Thursday’s matchup against Angels right-hander Dylan Bundy. The rookie has gotten off to a scorching hot start in 2020, entering play Thursday leading the Majors with 20 hits. While he has struck out in exactly one-third of his plate appearances, Lewis has amassed a .385 average and 1.016 OPS through his first 13 games, making him a must-roster in nearly every season-long format. Lewis’ success is due in part to his feasting on fastballs in the early stages of the year, having produced a gaudy .739 slugging percentage. His next chance to get back in the lineup comes Friday when the Rockies send right-hander Antonio Senzatela -- who had a 7.29 road ERA across 13 starts in 2019 -- to the hill.--Jesse Borek
