4 years agoBaltimore Orioles third baseman Rio Ruiz has been battling a right shoulder ailment that again kept him out of the lineup Thursday, although manager Brandon Hyde was optimistic that Ruiz could be back in the mix Friday or Saturday. Ruiz was last in the lineup last Saturday, having gotten off to a hot start in 2020 with three home runs and seven RBI in his first six games. Pat Valaika has been the team’s primary fill-in at the hot corner and doesn’t figure to have much fantasy value upon Ruiz’s return. Washington has not yet announced their starters for the weekend series that Ruiz may face, but he remains primarily a deep league and DFS option at this stage in the season.--Jesse Borek
