Devin Smeltzer Enters Rotation For Start Friday
4 years agoMinnesota Twins left-handed pitcher Devin Smeltzer has been shifted to the starting rotation for Friday’s contest against the Royals. Smeltzer worked behind an opener his last time out and allowed one run over 2 ⅔ innings, a drastic step forward from his nightmarish debut July 25 (2 IP, 5 ER). The southpaw has starting experience from last year, where he produced a 4.11 ERA across his six starts. He holds little season-long value aside from the deepest formats (especially due to pitch count concerns), but has some DFS intrigue as he matches up with a Kansas City offense that ranked 27th in the Majors in on-base percentage (.274) entering play Thursday.
