4 years agoLos Angeles Angels right-handed pitcher Griffin Canning is slated to take the hill for Friday’s game against the Rangers at the newly pitcher’s friendly Globe Life Park. The Majors’ newest home turf is yielding the fourth-lowest runs per contest when considering park factor, which when added to the fact Texas entered play Thursday with the third-lowest team batting average (.194) in the big leagues makes for all of the right ingredients for Canning. Of course, he has been impressive himself to begin the year, and particularly, his curveball. Having allowed just three singles with the pitch while amassing eight strikeouts, he has gotten a 56.5% whiff percentage on his curve through his first two starts with an xBA of .098. Canning is an excellent streamer option for those in smaller season-long formats, as well as those on the DFS market.--Jesse Borek
