4 years agoChicago White Sox outfielder Nomar Mazara was hit on the foot by a pitch during Thursday’s contest against the Brewers, leading to his immediate exit. Mazara was able to walk off under his own power, having been replaced by Adam Engel. Prior to his departure, Mazara singled and scored his first run of 2020, having gotten off to a delayed start. His absence adds to Chicago’s recent string of unfortunate injury luck with Edwin Encarnacion and Nick Madrigal out of the mix with respective shoulder ailments. When healthy, Mazara is a deep league power bat, but until he can prove that he can stay on the field, he can likely remain on the wire in most formats. His next chance to get back in the lineup comes Friday against Cleveland right-hander Aaron Civale.--Jesse Borek
