4 years agoSan Diego Padres first baseman Jake Cronenworth is again batting fifth for the Padres when they take on Luke Weaver and the Diamondbacks on Friday. Cronenworth is off to a hot start on the season posting a .318/.348/.727 line with one home run and three RBI in 23 plate appearances. Cronenworth has taken over everyday first base duties with Eric Hosmer (illness) on the injured list. Having already collected two doubles, two triples, and one homer in his first seven Major League games, the 40 extra-base hits that Cronenworth delivered in 94 games at Triple-A last year are already beginning to translate to the big leagues.
