Yankees Place Kyle Higashioka On The 10-day IL
4 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Kyle Higashioka (oblique) was placed on the 10-day IL with an oblique strain on Saturday. Higashioka’s oblique began bothering him on Thursday, and the 30-year-old tried to play through it before landing on the IL. With Higashioka to miss at least the next ten days and Chris Ianetta retiring, Erik Kratz becomes the team’s primary backup catcher. Considering his .606 OPS over his 10-year MLB career, Kratz isn’t much of a factor for fantasy purposes even if he winds up seeing playing time.
