4 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder Alex Verdugo will bat leadoff Saturday against Blue Jays right-hander Chase Anderson. The move comes a day after Verdugo slugged a pair of home runs, bringing his OPS up .927. Andrew Benintendi, who has been Boston’s primary leadoff hitter in 2020, has been dropped to the No. 7 spot in the order amidst an offensive malaise (.061 BA) to begin the year. Whether the move is a one day shakeup of the lineup or Verdugo has taken over the duties, he becomes a more appealing fantasy commodity with J.D.
