Jay Bruce Blast Three-Run Homer Vs Braves
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder Jay Bruce went 2-for-4 with a double and a three-run home run in a win vs the Braves Saturday. Bruce has been solid in the early portion of the season with a .300 batting average and a .800 slugging percentage through 23 plate-appearances. He's making great contact as evidenced by his 50-percent hard-hit rate and above average 90.3 MPH average exit velocity. With the DH in the National League, Bruce has found himself in the Phillies lineup more often than not and should continue to be the team's primary DH which could keep the veteran healthier than he has been in recent seasons. Bruce is worth a look this week with matchups vs a homer-happy Orioles pitching staff.
