4 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder/designated hitter Giancarlo Stanton was placed on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain. Stanton was injured in Saturday's game against the Tampa Bay Rays after sprinting to second base. This is a rough blow to Stanton owners and the Yankees especially given Stanton's hot start at the plate. On the young season, Stanton is batting .293/.453/.585 with seven RBI and three home runs. The Yankees are hopeful that the oft-injured Stanton will only require the minimum amount of time on the IL. Manager Aaron Boone indicated that Stanton will get an MRI to determine the severity of the hamstring strain.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
