Phillip Evans Out For 2020 After Scary Collision
4 years agoPittsburgh Pirates third baseman Phillip Evans will miss the remainder of the 2020 season after sustaining a concussion and fractured jaw during a collision with outfielder Gregory Polanco on Saturday. Evans is expected to make a full recovery, which is the best news possible after having been carted off the field. Jose Osuna was recalled to take Evans’ place on the roster, although playing time seems scarce except for when Colin Moran sits against southpaws. Evans had gotten off to a hot start at the dish, batting .359 with a .932 OPS in his first 45 plate appearances. But with the injury, he retains no fantasy value for the remainder of the season.
