Tim Anderson To Travel For Next Series, Activation Likely
4 years agoChicago White Sox shortstop Tim Anderson has been out of the lineup since July 31 with a right groin strain. Anderson will make the trip with the club to Detroit for the series that begins Monday, which lends credence to the idea that he would be activated and ready to man shortstop again. In his stead, Leury Garcia has been the primary fill-in, although he will likely retain considerable playing time with Nick Madrigal (shoulder) also out of the equation. Anderson has begun 2020 hitting .333 with a .922 OPS, a strong follow up to having won a batting title last season. He can safely rejoin lineups from the moment he is activated and confirmed to be in the lineup.
