Yordan Alvarez Cranks Home Run In Intrasquad Game
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Yordan Alvarez continues to make his path back toward the big league roster after getting a delayed start to 2020. On Sunday, he mashed a home run during an intrasquad game, just a day after collecting a pair of doubles. Manager Dusty Baker has reiterated that he isn’t sure when Alvarez will arrive with the Major League club, but his bat appears to have the same thump in it that it did during 2019 when he won American League Rookie of the Year honors and produced a 172 OPS+. The success during intrasquad games indicates that Alvarez’s arrival may not be far off.
