Hunter Dozier Activated From IL, Hitting Cleanup Sunday
4 years agoKansas City Royals first baseman/designated hitter Hunter Dozier was placed on the active roster for Sunday’s contest against the Twins, set to make his season debut after having missed the early part of the year after a positive COVID-19 test. While Kansas City signed Maikel Franco to become the third baseman, Dozier moves over to first and has positional flexibility both as a possible outfielder or designated hitter. He made an impact with a two-RBI single Sunday, a continuation of a strong 2019 where he led the Majors in triples (10) and posted an .870 OPS across 139 games. Dozier figures to anchor the Royals’ lineup on an everyday basis and holds considerable season-long appeal in most formats due to his power bat.
