Jordan Montgomery Looks Good On Tuesday
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jordan Montgomery allowed three runs over six innings with four strikeouts against the Braves on Tuesday. Montgomery generated an uncharacteristically high 14% swinging-strike rate, but he was also hit a little harder than usual with a 37% hard-hit rate for the night. Encouragingly, Montgomery’s elevated velocity has continued to stick, and it’s likely that it will remain elevated for the rest of the season. Although he probably won’t post a strikeout rate above 25%, Montgomery is likely to post an ERA below 4.00 with a roughly league-average strikeout rate this season.
