Kenta Maeda Dominant In Wednesday's Win
4 years agoMinnesota Twins pitcher Kenta Maeda may have had his sharpest stuff yet in Wednesday's win over the Brewers. Maeda gave the Twins 6 2/3 strong innings, allowing five hits, two runs and a walk while striking out five batters. It's his third win of the season and 50th of his career, as he improves to 3-0 on the season. The 31-year-old had excellent command, throwing 63 of 85 pitches for strikes. Catcher Mitch Garver said after the game that this was the sharpest he's seen Maeda this year and that the veteran starter had great deception and break on his slider and split change. Maeda looks like a draft steal after four starts and will look to keep things rolling in a favorable matchup against the Royals on August 17.
