4 years agoNew York Mets third baseman/outfielder Jeff McNeil went 0-for-5 in the Mets 11-6 win over the Nationals on Wednesday. McNeil, who returned to the Mets lineup on Friday after being held out a few games due to a minor back issue, has been in a slight slump. Over his last seven days, McNeil is batting just .217/.240/.261 with no home runs and five RBI in 27 at-bats. McNeil was visibly frustrated on Wednesday after turning in his hitless performance on a night the Mets scored 11 runs. McNeil opened 2020 on a tear and even with this recent slide is still batting .293 on the season, albeit with no home runs. With a current xBA of .337, a low strikeout rate of 14.9%, and after hitting .318 with 23 HR and 75 RBI in 2019, it is only a matter of time before McNeil gets it going. Owners should continue to keep McNeil active for his eventual hot streak.--Nick Ritrivi - RotoBaller
