Alec Bohm To Adopt Everyday Role Upon Call-Up
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies first/third baseman Alec Bohm was brought up to make his Major League debut Thursday and the immediate question was about how much playing time he would receive. Phillies general manager Matt Klentak made it apparent that Bohm, the club’s top prospect, would be handed an everyday role, playing third base “quite a bit.” The decision essentially zaps Scott Kingery of any season-long fantasy value, as he is the odd-man out with Jean Segura shifting over to second base. Bohm dominated the Arizona Fall League last season, slashing .361/.397/.528, and his power potential makes him a consideration from the get-go in season-long formats for owners who are willing to take on some risk.
