Ketel Marte Racking Up Hits To Begin 2020
4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks second baseman/outfielder Ketel Marte has followed up his fourth place finish in the 2019 National League MVP race by collecting a .338 average through his first 19 games this year. He has tagged fastballs early on, batting .356 with a .583 xSLG and just a 5.9 Whiff%. After opening the year in the leadoff spot, Marte has spent the past three games batting second, which saw him go 7-for-14. He was especially dynamic at Chase Field last season, where he slashed .347/.399/.614, which bodes well for his next five games, all of which will come at home. His stock is only continuing to trend upward in season-long formats, while he also has considerable DFS appeal after failing to reach base in a game just four times thus far.
