Tyler Chatwood Scratched From Start Friday; Alec Mills Steps In
4 years agoChicago Cubs right-handed pitcher Tyler Chatwood will not start Friday’s contest against the Brewers due to tightness in his back. Righty Alec Mills has been tabbed to take his place. Chatwood opened the year with two excellent starts at Wrigley Field (one coming against Milwaukee), before being mollywhopped last Thursday (11 hits, eight runs) in Kansas City. While many may choose to pivot to Brewers hitters in DFS, Mills has gotten off to a solid start in his own right, yielding just two runs in his first 13 frames, limiting batters to an elite average exit velocity of 79.8 MPH. Chatwood’s next chance to return to the mound was not made immediately available.
