Alex Young Tabbed For First Start Of 2020 On Saturday

4 years agoArizona Diamondbacks left-handed pitcher Alex Young will enter the starting rotation for Saturday’s contest against San Diego. All seven of Young’s appearances this season have come out of relief, having yielded five runs in 9 ⅔ frames with 10 strikeouts to his credit. Young will be filling the spot of Madison Bumgarner, who is on the injured list due to a back ailment. During his 15 starts as a rookie last year, Young was susceptible to the home run ball (14 in 77 IP), but ultimately posted a solid 3.86 ERA. Having maxed out at 33 pitches this season, DFS owners might want to look elsewhere as pitch count concerns will likely cap Young’s ceiling against the Padres.--Jesse Borek
