4 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals right-handed pitcher Jack Flaherty threw a side session Friday and is now slated to return to the mound next Wednesday against the Cubs. The Cardinals have notably been shut down from taking the field since July 29 due to a COVID-19 outbreak within the organization. Due to the games missed, figuring out St. Louis’ starters workload over the remainder of the season will likely mirror high-grade calculus. But for Flaherty, who remains an elite fantasy option in the wake of his historic finish to the 2019 campaign, his first start back comes against a Chicago club that he compiled a 2.48 ERA against in six starts last year.--Jesse Borek
