4 years agoSan Francisco Giants outfielder Austin Slater was first scratched from the lineup Wednesday, with a flexor strain in his elbow keeping him sidelined through at least Friday. While Slater is currently listed as day-to-day, the fact that the team has not placed him on the injured list seems to indicate that there is optimism that he could return to the lineup this weekend. Slater is off to a scorching start to 2020, mashing the ball at a .342/.444/.632 slash line while also swiping five bases. Aggressive season-long owners in medium-sized leagues or larger can take the gamble on Slater’s hot streak and add him to the mix once he is officially cleared to rejoin the starting nine.--Jesse Borek
