ANALYSIS: Brandon Nimmo is always worth paying attention to for his talent and power/speed capabilities, and it might be easy to lose sight of his production this season while fellow Met Michael Conforto has the hot hand, but Nimmo is off to a hot start of his own that makes his widespread availability seem too good to be true.
Nimmo currently has a very healthy but unusual slash of .230/.418/.392, with three home runs and a stolen base through his first 74 AB. Nimmo might've lost a step in power-hitting over the years as evidenced by his ISO steadily dropping from .219 to .162, but more importantly, his strikeout rate has dropped from 28% to 20.4%, and he has improved his already ridiculously robust walk rate to 20.4%. Nimmo's hard contact rate of 35.2% and soft contact rate of 16.7% are passable enough on a 1.00 GB/FB ratio to net plenty of success at the plate in the instances when he isn't getting a free trip to first base, and with some stolen base potential still tucked away, he will see enough time on the base-paths to consistently do damage across a multitude of categories.
