Alec Mills Suffers First Loss
4 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Alec Mills picked up his first loss of season on Friday versus the Brewers. Mills was pushed up a day with Tyler Chatwood (back) scratched prior to Friday’s game with back tightness. Mills pitched great for the first five innings, but a three-run home run by Christian Yelich gave the Brewers the lead and victory. Mills finished with a final line of six innings and allowed five hits, four runs, one walk and seven strikeouts. Mills now owns a respectable 2.84 ERA and will have the Cubs make a tough decision when Jose Quintana (thumb) returns to the club. Mills is a fine option in deeper leagues at the moment.
