Dominic Smith Homers In Third Straight Game
4 years agoNew York Mets outfielder/first baseman Dominic Smith hit his third home run in three games (and fifth of the season) on Friday in the Mets' 6-5 loss to the Phillies. The red hot Smith went 2-for-4 with the solo homer, drove in two runs, walked, and scored once. Smith has been on fire the past few games and, in this short season, riding the hot hand can make a tremendous impact in the final standings in seasonal formats. On the season, Smith has a .283/.375/.717 line with five HR and 14 RBI in 46 at-bats. He has picked up right where he left off in 2019 when he hit .282/.355/.525 with 11 HR and 25 RBI in just 177 at-bats. The Mets will continue to take every opportunity to keep Smith's bat in the lineup either at designated hitter, first base or left field. Owners in need of help at first base or in the outfield, or looking for HR and RBI, should grab Smith.
