Michael Brantley Could Be Headed Toward IL Stint
4 years agoHouston Astros outfielder/designated hitter Michael Brantley is facing a potential stint on the injured list due to right quad soreness, manager Dusty Baker revealed before Saturday’s game. With Yordan Alvarez having returned and claimed the DH spot, the numbers game of having too many healthy OFs that warranted everyday playing time was creeping up on Baker. Brantley has produced a 122 OPS+ through his first 15 games, right in line with the production that he has delivered over the past two years. An absence from Brantley would allow Kyle Tucker and Josh Reddick to continue holding down everyday duties, thereby extending their window for season-long ownership. Check back to get an update on whether Houston makes the move official by the end of the weekend.
