James Paxton Nearly Touches 95 MPH
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher James Paxton continued his trend of improvement on Saturday with a five inning, three run start against the Red Sox. Paxton’s fastball got up to 94.8 mph during Saturday’s start, his highest mark this season, and his 93 mph average fastball velocity in his past two starts is up from under 92 mph in his first two starts. Paxton’s fastball still isn’t close enough to normal to make him worth starting in fantasy leagues, but the 31-year-old appears to be trending in the right direction and represents a potential buy-low candidate for fantasy players willing to be patient.
