Jose Iglesias Back Out Of Lineup Sunday
4 years agoBaltimore Orioles shortstop Jose Iglesias is sitting Sunday -- a day game -- after having played Saturday night as he continues to battle a left quad ailment. Pat Valaika gets the start at shortstop, with Rio Ruiz jumping up to the No. 3 spot in the order. Iglesias is off to far and away the best offensive start to a season in his career, batting .400 with a 168 OPS+ through his first 16 games. While he offers little by way of home runs, Iglesias has already amassed nine doubles; his .424 xBA is an indicator that little of this production has been fluky, which gives him season-long appeal in roto leagues, even as he battles injury. His next chance to return to the lineup comes Monday against Blue Jays left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu.
